Terms and conditions of Climate Mix electricity agreements
- The contract starts as a fixed-term contract for 6 months and then automatically continues as a contract that is valid until further notice.
- The selling price of electricity will remain the same for the entire fixed-term contract period, provided that there are no changes to the taxes or official charges concerning electricity.
- During the fixed-term period, the contract has a basic monthly fee (euros per month) and a fixed price for the amount of energy consumed (cents per kWh).
- When the fixed-term period ends, the contract will automatically change to a contract that is valid until further notice. This means that the price of electricity will be determined by the spot price published by the Nordic electricity exchange (Nord Pool) for the Finnish price area. Vattenfall’s margin (cents per kWh) and basic monthly fee (euros per month) will be added to the spot price.
- The energy consumed is generated entirely by means of fossil-free hydropower, wind power and nuclear power.
- The contract is binding on both parties throughout the fixed-term contract period, except in situations of moving house.
- When the contract becomes a contract that is valid until further notice, it can be terminated with two weeks’ notice.
Vattenfall Oy (Vattenfall) will take care of all the procedures related to changing suppliers on your behalf. An electricity sales agreement between the customer and Vattenfall will enter into force on the agreed date of commencement of the electricity supply or on the first possible date when the commencement of the electricity supply is technically possible. Vattenfall will charge you for the electricity you consume, and the local grid company will charge you for the share of the electricity transmission. When entering into the agreement, Vattenfall has the right to check the customer’s credit history. At the site of use for which this agreement is made, hourly or quarterly metering of electricity consumption must be installed, and it must be technically possible to use the measured data for billing purposes. The hourly or quarter-hourly measurement of electricity consumption must be continuously switched on from the main switch at the site of use. The billing is based on the consumption data provided to Vattenfall by the distribution system operator, which takes into account whether the metering at the site of use takes place per hour or per quarter hour.
Effortless 6-month Climate Mix contract
Climate-friendly electricity
The energy for the Climate Mix contract is generated entirely by means of hydro power, wind power and nuclear power, meaning that Vattenfall undertakes to purchase electricity generated by means of these forms of production to an extent equal to your electricity consumption.
Commitment to the contract
The contract is customer- and site-specific. If you move house, the fixed-term contract period will end on the date of your move. However, the fixed-term period can be conveniently moved to your new home if you wish. You must notify Vattenfall of your move by calling our customer service department or filling in the move notification form at vattenfall.fi/muuttoilmoitus. The contract cannot otherwise be terminated during the contract period without a special reason (sections 10.2.1–10.2.5 of the Terms of Electricity Sales, SME 2014).
If the fixed-term contract period expires for a reason attributable to the customer without an acceptable reason (sections 10.2.1–10.2.5 of SME 2014), the customer must pay a contractual penalty of EUR 100 or the amount of the loss arising from the termination of the fixed price for Vattenfall, whichever is greater. The amount of the loss arising from the termination of the fixed price for Vattenfall is determined on the basis of the estimated consumption for the period between the premature termination date of the contract and the expiry date of the original contract period as follows: The value obtained from the sale of the corresponding amount of electricity, calculated in accordance with the quotations on the electricity derivatives market on the end date of the contract, is deducted from the purchase price determined for the period based on the energy fees in accordance with the contract.
For the sake of clarity, it is stated that entering into electricity contracts in the name of another person for the site of use in question when the customer continues to live at the site of use is not considered to be a move under section 10.2.4 of SME 2014 or otherwise an acceptable reason.
General terms and conditions governing the agreement
In addition to these terms and conditions, the Terms of Electricity Sales (SME 2014) apply to this contract.
